An Eastern Cape native, Stellata grows amongst grass and pebbles often with fully exposed thick subterranean tuber - that embeds itself in rocky crevices. The short, truncate stem merges with the thick turnip-shaped root and although it may have a face even a mother couldn’t love - it is visually amazing, with branches up to 15cm long and green yellow flowers. Popular, slow growing and ornamental, enjoying watering through the growing season and good light.
